Due to allegations of corruption made by some of the disqualified presidential candidates against some members of the constitutional council, the executive power has resolved to suspend the presidential election in Senegal until the national assembly completes its investigation into this matter. We ask the Senegalese youth to keep calm and act responsibly, even if they are dissatisfied or angry with this decision. We understand that this decision may upset and disappoint many of you. However, there are some important and complicated issues that need to be addressed, such as the security of the election, the integrity of the constitutional council, and the stability of the country.
